Educational Curriculum and Conferences
A robust educational curriculum includes weekly conferences including a joint Allergy & Immunology Core Conference with Scripps Clinic (core lecture series and fellow-run journal club), Immunology School (basic and clinical immunology lectures and board review, difficult clinical case reviews and multi-disciplinary teaching from Pulmonary, Rheumatology, Otolaryngology, Hematology and Dermatology colleagues), and Rady Children's Allergy/Immunology Journal Club and Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds. In addition, fellows attend specialized research and clinical teaching conferences that are scheduled monthly to quarterly such as the California State Newborn Screen Case Discussion, as well as network and learn with fellows at neighboring regional Allergy/Immunology programs (California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and Colorado) at the UCLA-run annual Allergy/Immunology bootcamp in Los Angeles each July. Fellows attend at least one national annual conference in A/I annually (AAAAI, ACAAI, etc.) as well as the ACAAI/AAAAI Joint Allergy-Immunology Board Review Certification Course and San Diego Allergy Society meetings.
